AIIMS Guwahati (an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India / PMSSY) invites online applications for 63 Group-A faculty posts on direct recruitment in 31 departments. This is a rolling advertisement. The 2nd cut-off for online applications is 15.09.2026 (up to 5:00 pm). Trauma and Emergency Medicine — Professor (UR-1): preference order Trauma Surgery (M.Ch.), Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesiology with critical-care experience, Orthopaedics with trauma experience, General Surgery with trauma experience or Fellowship in Trauma care. Assistant Professor (OBC-1): Obstetrics and Gynaecology. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION (medical) 1. Medical qualification in I or II schedule or Part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. 2. MD/MS or equivalent in the subject; and/or DM/M.Ch. (2/3/5-year recognised course) for super-specialties. Non-medical (Anatomy, Pharmacology, Microbiology and other applicable disciplines): Master’s in the concerned specialty + doctorate from a recognised university. DNB holders must meet NMC 31.10.2018 equivalence (extra 1–2 years’ experience if trained at institutions under para 2(c)/(d)). EXPERIENCE (after the qualifying degree; counted on 15.09.2026) Professor: 14 years after MD/MS; or 12 years after 2/5-year DM/M.Ch.; or 11 years after 3-year DM/M.Ch.; non-medical 14 years after doctorate. Additional Professor: 10 / 8 / 7 years respectively; non-medical 10 years after doctorate. Associate Professor: 6 / 4 / 3 years respectively; non-medical 6 years after doctorate. Assistant Professor: 3 years after MD/MS; 1 year after 2/5-year DM/M.Ch.; no experience after 3-year DM/M.Ch.; non-medical 3 years after doctorate. One-year teaching/research-experience relaxation for SC/ST as per DoPT. AGE (on 15.09.2026) Professor/Additional Professor: 58 years. Associate/Assistant Professor: 50 years. Relaxation: SC/ST 5 yrs; OBC 3 yrs; PwBD (OH-OL & BL) 10 yrs; Govt. servant 5 yrs. No relaxation for reserved-category candidates applying to UR posts. RESERVATION Govt. of India rules. 4% horizontal reservation for PwBD (OH-OL and BL); physical requirements S, ST, W, MF, RW.
